Bone Scan Results

I spent pretty much all day today in the hospital setting to learn that there is nothing to worry about in my bones. The bone scan came back showing no cancer, which energizes me. I will be having scans again in August before I return to Goshen College. I thank you all for your prayers and I know God is filling me with health.

P.S. If I was ever going to work in the hospital, I would choose to give bone scans to other people because it is so much fun to see the bones come forth on the computer :)

More Peace

I had my scheduled doctors appointment today filled with a CT scan, MRI, and a visit with my doctors. And once again my doctors are pleased with how I am doing. This means that my dead cancer cells have either shrunk or at least stayed the same size. Believe it or not, I don’t have to always wear my mask now (I might still wean away from it though). In addition, my blood counts have been on the rise, still not normal, but are higher than they have been since my stem cell transplant! There is always a catch though, as my dad says every time I go in for new scans. The doctors have noticed that there is a new growth on my left hip bone that showed up first in my first scan after my stem cell transplant but has grown a bit since then. They are not worried about it being cancerous, but they do want me to have a bone scan next week just to get a better picture of the growth and to see if there are any other growths that are still unseen.

Once again, I want to thank you all for your many prayers and staying with me through this experience. During the joyful and painful times of this journey, I am learning a lot about my relationship with God and I hope you all are learning a lot as well.

Love,
Nathan

Biking

The free time I have been experiencing away from making weekly visits to the hospital is fabulous. The next time I will be going to the hospital for scans is May 15th. And painting has been going well for me too. Today it was raining in the morning and since I have a sore throat (no fever) I decided to stay home and rest. I am not sure if my friends started working this afternoon or not.

The latest thing I have started is biking. I got a used bike from a friend and have been working on getting it fixed up. Right now I am working on cleaning the spokes and pedal. This past Sunday I went riding for 15 miles, which is quite a bit for me yet. But, it was a lot of fun and to my surprise I wasn’t even very sore the next day.

If you would all continue to pray for my white cells, I would appreciate it! I would also appreciate you to pray for continued health.
