A Birthday!

There are many things in life that jump up and surprise us. This past Friday the 19th my parents called me and wished me a happy birthday. While I was confused for one second, since December 1st is my birthday, I quickly realized that I had been in the hospital at this time last year. This phone call was a joyful phone call as it was the one year celebration of getting my stem cell transplant. And on the stem cell transplant floor, this is known as a birth of new life!

I am now finishing my last semester before I graduate. I still have my internship and also two social work classes. I am getting excited about being able to graduate at the end of April. While I am busy writing papers for my classes I have also chosen to be apart of an indoor soccer team and play every Thursday night. As I have been playing soccer ever since the 1st grade it feels great to be able to kick the ball around even though I am not in any type of shape after sitting out for two years.

I also want to thank all of you for praying for me and I hope your prayers for me extend to praying for other people as well. Prayer is a gift and connection with God that is good for everyone.
