ohhhhh

It has been less than six months since, and I am writing again :). The results I shared with you came from the CT scan’s preliminary reading. Today as I was leaving work, I listened to a voice mail from my phone. My doctor’s nurse left a message for me to call her. While this is not the first time that she has left a message, I thought I would give her a call back right away. Unfortunately, she told me that after the CT scan was read more carefully, there was a small abnormality on one of my lungs. My mom asked me which lung when I told her about the call, and I don’t remember . . . While I have been told that different scans of different people can show different abnormalities, this is a little bit of a punch to the good news I shared with you a couple of weeks ago. But, I have had bigger punches over the last several years, and it is through all of you that I was able to keep going. I am going to be scheduled for another CT scan in three months, and would appreciate your prayers as I continue to pray for my health.

May there be peace through this time of waiting,
Nathan

6 months ago . . .

It was around six months ago that I updated my bolg. In some ways that is a very long time ago, but that also means nothing major has happened. (I think I have written this before :). But, I have great news to share with all of you. On June 23rd, I had another MRI and CT scan, and the results did not show anything for my cancer doctor to be concerned about. And yet as my parents and I heard this great news, there is still a hesitation to celebrate the same way we did after finished my first round of chemo a couple of years ago. Not to say we did not celebrate, we just did not celebrate by having a large ice cream social like we did then. And, by writing this to you all, is also a great way to celebrate these last scan results. My nest scans are scheduled to be in another six months.

I am still working at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City as a psychiatric nursing assistant. And for now I am still enjoying my work. I have many different stories from this job, but that would fill another bolg spot, which I am not planning one creating. Other than that, I am continuing to spend time with family and friends as I continue along God’s journey for my life.

May God bless you all, and one again, thanks for your prayers,
Nathan
