Nathan Update and prayer list

Greetings,
A quick update so you know how to pray for Nathan. Nathan’s white blood cell count was still too low for him to come home yesterday, so he continues to be at the hospital. We are thankful that his pain seems to be better managed with medication and that he has been eating a little better (breakfast kinds of things). We are also thankful that Nathan’s attitude is good. Yesterday Carol commented about how long it was taking for his meds to arrive after he requested some pain medication. Nathan responded, “you just have to have patience mom.” This whole cancer thing is all about patience. Pray for Nathan that his white blood cell count will increase and that he will be protected from a life threatening infection. Continue to pray that Nathan’s appetite will continue to improve, that his pain can continue to be managed well, that the chemo continues to kill the cancer growing in his body and that his body can grow back the good cells his body needs to heal. Nathan’s third chemo treatment is scheduled for Monday. Words are not adequate to express our thanks and appreciation for all your concern, prayers and support. May you know God’s blessing in your life and in your family as you pray for Nathan. Thank you!

Hi, Nathan! I was reading Roger Farmer's post and it made me remember my thoughts durring my senior year of high school taking AP Biology. As the school year progressed and we got more and more in depth into the body's systems and all that, I became increasingly amazed at the intricacy of the human body. There are so many itty bitty very complex systems that go on on such a microscopic level in every cell in the body, and how they each do such a specific job and how they all work with eachother. The more complex systems we learned about, the more I kept thinking that there's no way this could happen without a higher power having created it and currently making it tick. And just thinking about how that higher power plays such a crucial role every day and every second all over... it is just an amazing feeling to me, to know that God has that much involvment in my body, let alone the rest of my life. Keep fighting and hanging on, Nathan. God's working for you, and everything in your body is working hard to fight the cancer for you! You've got way more than lots and lots of people on your side!

Nathan, Tim, and Carol,

It was neat to meet you the other night, though I never wish to meet anyone in the hospital. I was glad to put a face to the name I've been praying for. I know these times are so uncertain for you and I pray that as you go through this that God's guidance, peace and comfort would be more real to you than ever. Thank you for your witness to the doctors and nurses that you come into contact with. It is so encouraging to me to see your faith while going through all you are facing. Thanks! I will continue to be praying for you quick recovery!
